Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Opera Project XVII Ticket Sales on Dec 8 (Sat)!

Ticket sales of The Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Opera Project XVII starts on this weekend, Dec 8 (Sat)!

The 2019 Opera Project will feature the world-famous opera production – G. Bizet: Carmen, the well-received production Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Opera Project featured in 2017. Seiji Ozawa, an Artistic Director of the Music Academy, and Christian Arming, the Music Director of the Liege Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, will conduct Carmen with Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Orchestra. Wonderful mezzo soprano Sandra Piques Eddy and tenor singer Chad Shelton, both starred in 2017 production, come back on the stage and again mesmerize the audience. The production will be directed by Metropolitan Opera Executive Stage Director David Kneuss.
The opera production will be produced within ROHM Theatre Kyoto and first two performances will be held in Kyoto City. After these performances, the Academy will tour within Japan to hold performances in Yokosuka and Tokyo. The Music Academy will also hold the Opera for Children (entrance free / no entry to general public) performance, in which it will welcome primary school students of Kyoto Prefecture to experience opera for the first time.
